2 million trees planted and 5,000 hectares of farmland restored by Imagine Africa

    Story Details

     Greener Lands, Stronger Communities

Imagine Afrika has taken bold steps to reverse the effects of deforestation and soil degradation. Through community-led tree planting and sustainable land management, over 2 million trees have been planted across vulnerable regions in southern Malawi. These efforts breathe new life into degraded landscapes, fostering biodiversity and increasing resilience to climate change.

“Our farms were dry and bare — now they’re green and giving again,” says a farmer from Nsanje.

In partnership with local leaders, schools, and farmer cooperatives, Imagine Afrika has restored more than 5,000 hectares of farmland using regenerative agriculture techniques. These include agroforestry, permaculture, and soil replenishment methods that improve productivity while protecting the environment.

The transformation goes beyond the soil. With healthy trees and fertile lands, families are now harvesting hope — securing food, income, and a climate-safe future. Imagine Afrika is growing more than just trees — we’re growing legacies of resilience and sustainability.
