Cross-Border Knowledge Exchange: Wakulima Company Rep Visits Imagine Afrika to Explore Permaculture and Compost Sanitation Solutions

Imagine Afrika was honored to host Mr. Frank, a representative from Wakulima Company Limited in Tanzania, for a special visit to our Permaculture Learning Center in Zomba, Malawi. His visit marks an important step in strengthening regional collaboration on sustainable farming and ecological sanitation practices.

With the generous support of +1 Global Food Security, the visit focused on exploring:

  • ✅ The integration and benefits of compost toilets as eco-friendly sanitation solutions in rural communities

  • ✅ The practical application of permaculture techniques for sustainable land management, food production, and soil regeneration

  • ✅ Opportunities for cross-learning and scaling climate-smart agricultural practices across East and Southern Africa

During his visit, Mr. Frank toured the Imagine Afrika Permaculture Learning Center (IAPLC), engaged with trainers, and interacted with local farmers who are already applying permaculture design principles in their fields and homesteads.

“I am inspired by what Imagine Afrika is doing to empower communities using low-cost, nature-based approaches. These are solutions we can also adapt in Tanzania,” said Mr. Frank.

This knowledge-sharing exchange opens new doors for future collaboration between Wakulima Company, Imagine Afrika, and other like-minded partners working toward food security, soil health, and community resilience across the region.

Imagine Afrika remains committed to promoting sustainable, African-led innovations that restore land, uplift communities, and build a climate-resilient future.
